Fundraise for us, with 19 words! Please take part … Thank You …
We’re taking part in a ‘Virtual London Marathon.’ This is a great national initiative to help raise funds for charities. As the real London Marathon is not happening this year, the idea is for charities to run innovative on-line ‘events’ instead, to promote themselves and raise some of the funds they would have done with the real thing, if COVID wasn’t at the moment – sadly – running ahead of the game …
Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope is one of many charities not wanting to miss out, so please go to our ‘Virtual Starting Line’, and complete this creative challenge, and – because this is all about the number 19, please (x 19 …) donate either £1.90, or £19, or anything in between – for the joy of doing so!
To summarise your thoughts about the times in which we live during this COVID-19 crisis, in 19 words, exactly. Write about the peace, fear, blue skies, your family, loneliness, longing … anything. Please let me know how you are feeling in 19 words, and in-so-doing support our child amputees – India, Sierra Leone, and Liberia are all afflicted with this painful uncertainty too.
The deadline is a month today, 22nd May; then a musical narrative poem will be created, called The Day We All Came Home. Please submit your 19 words to: firstname.lastname@example.org, THANK YOU!
Some examples to get your creative juices flowing:
Little bird, shut in a cage, I’m self-isolating, I’m alone too. One day I’ll be free, will you?
Each day, awakening from a melancholy dream – a dream that offers promise, bright skies, feral light, houses of captivity
Dear Mother Earth, will you protect us, scoop us up, hold us tight and keep us warm? I wonder?
There is nothing in the world I miss more, than a couple of pints down the pub
THANK YOU! Please share, we know you care … Love from ELoH and all our children in Africa and India x x x
