A massive thank you to Edwina Rickards Collinson, a close friend of the Hope family, who held a special fundraiser in April 2012, raising over £900 for Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope (ELoH).

After meeting ELoH founder Sarah Hope last year, Edwina was so inspired by our work to help limbless children that she decided to get together with her friend Lucinda to hold an event to raise money for some of our future projects.  Together, Edwina and Lucinda decided to invite friends, family and local residents to the Collinson Lakehouse to sell their wares.

The day began fantastically as the sun came out to greet everyone after days of rain.  As lunch was served in the garden and the sun continued to shine, people bought many treats and delights with Indigo Boo’s, the Kenyan fashion designer, gorgeous coats proving to be very popular.

Among other items available were plants being sold by Edwina’s husband and Lucinda selling beautiful embroidered cushions, bunting, lavender bags – all stunningly arranged in the dining room.

A retro wicker hamper full of luxury goods was up for grabs in the raffle as everyone enjoyed tea, coffee and many other sweet treats on the terrace.

The day was a huge success with an amazing £903 raised in total.  ELoH’s thanks and best wishes go out to Edwina and all of her friends who made the day possible.
