We have created this privacy policy to give you the answers to privacy issues that may concern you when you interact with Elizabeth’s Legacy if Hope (ELoH) . We may occasionally change this privacy policy. If we do we will endeavour to alert you to any changes and how that affects you.


What will you use my information for?

We will ask you for some basic information to help you take part in ELoH fundraising projects, sign up to our newsletters or make other general requests or enquiries. These may include your name, address, title, date of birth, telephone number, email address or financial details.


By providing us with this information you are giving us permission to use that information to inform you of our work, request information or to process donations or payments in accordance with this privacy policy.


We will use your information: to further our charitable aims; to research, analyse and improve our work services for our fundraising activities, products or information or for our internal records; to use IP addresses and monitor website use to identify locations, to gain a better understanding of our website users and inform marketing campaigns, block disruptive use, record website traffic or personalise information for you; or for administrative purposes.

We will not use your information in other ways unless you give us permission to do so.


Financial details

We will do our best to protect your personal information. However, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted before it reaches us, and any transmission is therefore at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.


Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope will never ask for Credit Card details and request that you do not enter it on any of the forms. Any Direct Debit or standing order information is passed directly to the bank in question and not stored by ELoH.

A “cookie” is a small data text file that is placed in your browser and allows Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope to recognize you each time you visit this site (customisation etc). Cookies themselves do not contain any personal information, and Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope does not use cookies to collect personal information. If we obtain an IP address, we will not use it to identify who you are unless we need to do so to enforce our terms and conditions, protect our services or other users.

We will never sell your data to any third party. We will not share your details with other charities for marketing purposes except where we think there will be a benefit to you AND you have agreed for us to do so.

How long will we keep your data?

We will keep your data live on our system while you are an active participant in ELoH or an active donor. If we have not heard from you in the time period as specified in the General Data Protection Regulations (or for a period of 7 years for financial information) we will write to you asking if you would like to continue to hear from us. If you decide no or do not respond in an agreed timescale we will commit to removing all of your personal data permanently from all of our systems.

Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope is not responsible for the content of external internet sites. You are advised to read the privacy policy of external sites before disclosing any personal information.

When visitors leave comments on our site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
