Over two hundred and fifty people enjoyed an amazing evening of brilliant piano playing and jokes at the Radlett Centre in Hertfordshire on Friday 19th October 2012. The night was kindly hosted by Alex Ainley, in aid of Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope (ELoH).
Victoria Bacon, ELoH Trustee, said after the event:
I can’t quite decide if Alex is more musically gifted than he is witty – it is quite incredible to be able to present an audience with a ‘double whammy’ of utter talent for nearly three hours – including a Chopin excerpt with one hand. Thank you so much to Alex and his wife Ruth for planning this very special evening so carefully and for executing so beautifully, entirely for the benefit of Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope, so that we can continue to help struggling amputees get up on their feet.
The ‘Front of House’ team were brilliant too, organising a brilliant raffle and looking after all of our guests. Thank you so very much – you’ll be pleased to know that Alex has offered to play for us again – yes please, encore! Over £2,000 was raised. Hallellujah!
