Radlett-image1On Friday 19th October 2012 pianist Alex Ainley hosted an amazing evening of brilliant piano playing and jokes at the Radlett Centre in Hertfordshire, in aid of Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope (ELoH).

The title of the concert was An Evening of Music and Laughter at the Piano. Tickets for the event were £10 and full proceeds went to ELoH.

A lawyer by day, Alex Ainley is also an incredibly gifted pianist and stand up comedian. Alongside lots of laughter he performed musical favourites from Chopin, Strauss, Gershwin and Rodgers & Hammerstein.

Victoria Bacon, ELoH Trustee, said:

I can’t quite decide if Alex is more musically gifted than he is witty – it is quite incredible to be able to present an audience with a ‘double whammy’ of utter talent for nearly three hours – including a Chopin excerpt with one hand. Thank you so much to Alex and his wife Ruth for planning this very special evening so carefully, so that we can continue to help struggling amputees get up on their feet.”
