Amita lives in Andhra Pradesh, India and was born without a left leg. She faced a lot of challenges as she grew up – being reliant on her family to go anywhere.
Her father is the family’s only breadwinner and he earns £50-70 per month – a fifth of the costs of a good quality prosthetic in India. As a result, she has been unable to get the mobility support she needs.
But now, at the age of six, she is enrolled in ELoH’s India project. Amita has received her first prosthetic limb. She walks and she loves dancing, singing and playing with her friends.
Your generous support has made this life-changing support possible. If you would like to help more children like Amita, please consider donating here.
